"Transito
con Catene" is a very innovative manifestation which was held
in Monsanpolo in the month of June: an international Art Symposium in
which several artists coming from various European countries met with
Italian artists particularly from Ascoli Piceno. These all worked together
for a week to produce their work (sculpture, painting, music, literature
) at the Giardino Erboso, a renovated country- house on the hill of Monsampolo.
For those who were interested it was possible to watch the artists work,
exchange opinions and ideas and live the unique experience of watching
the birth of a work of art. Above all one had the possibility of coming
into contact with a world which is not always accessible: that of artistic
expression, which is nothing else but the most primary means of human
expression.
On the 23rd of June, an exhibition was held at the Convent of St Francis---
Municipal Museum and in the Crypt of the Church of SS.Maria in the town
of Monsampolo del Tronto. |

(?) Province of Ascoli Piceno, Department of Culture.
THEME FOR DISCUSSION
"Artists living Europe"
Italian artists and
artists from the North of Europe (members of the European group Frequenzen
united with local artists) who in spite of their age difference, mingle,
compare and work together in a little centre of Ascoli Piceno in the Giardino
Erboso at the Monsanpolo del Tronto to produce Art. The Piceno, European
territory proposes cultural and artistic exchanges supporting the meeting
of authors from Northern Europe with local ones, encouraging comparisons,
enrichment, cultural exchanges that bring about the awareness of a rich
cultural territory
"There are
no more in-between seasons"
."the climate is disturbed"
.."the
weather has gone mad, because of the ozone hole"
OK, all this is partially true, but they have nothing to do with the title
of this article, "On the road with chains at KM 199" This does
not regard the weather forecast of the meteorological office, nor is it
a communication of the Road, Highway or Transport department. It does
not regard chains that brake, limit or repress movement: on the other
hand they are threads, wires that unite, bind, like the subtle threads
that link the mind and the soul, permitting that every now and then one
leads the other and vice-versa. In this case the threads permit the soul
to drag the mind, suggesting:
Come on, let yourself go, come and participate in the marvellous act of
creation, not only as a spectator but as a protagonist, interacting with
other human beings, equal to us, who feel free to say, express and turn
themselves upside down and inside-out like a glove showing their inner
faces, their dreams, their sadness and their joy .
So come forget for a few hours, the stress, the time, your mobile-phone,
the fast track of everyday life, I will accompany you, notwithstanding
everything, I will nurture you.
However, even I need your sustenance, otherwise I will become too weak
to be able to help you. Hence, it is now my turn and you must accompany
me, because I need nourishment; meanwhile, you can relax and get to know
intimately that human aspect called Art |
